Invisalign in Alexandria, VA

Invisalign in Alexandria, VA

An alternative to traditional metal braces, Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. Using 3D computer imaging technology, your aligners are custom-made specifically for your mouth to gradually shift your teeth over time without anyone knowing you are wearing them.

Dr. Kasper provides a complimentary radiation-free full-mouth wellness scan to all patients.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF STRAIGHTER TEETH

Straight teeth are healthier teeth because when your teeth are properly aligned, you benefit from healthier gums, improved hygiene, and less wear and trauma.

Misaligned teeth can lead to premature wear, tooth loss, gum disease, and the buildup of bacteria associated with bigger health problems, including heart disease. More than seven out of ten American adults have some kind of issue with their bites.

There is a connection between your health and misaligned teeth. It is hard to remove plaque and bacteria from misaligned teeth which can lead to inflamed gums, soft tissue damage, receding gums, pockets between your teeth and gums, bone loss, and tooth loss.

Poorly aligned teeth also put extra stress and pressure on teeth and the jawbone. Remember, problems that start in your mouth can spread to the rest of your body.

Severe gum infections may increase the risk of:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Lung disease
  • Complications related to diabetes
  • Problems in pregnancy
  • Alzheimer’s disease

Dr. Kasper believes in the importance of oral health as it relates to your overall well-being. She will help you understand the benefits of using Invisalign to improve your oral health.

HOW DOES INVISALIGN WORK?

Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gradually shift teeth into place. Each aligner is custom-made for your smile to ensure that it fits perfectly over each tooth and provides the right amount of pressure needed to achieve the best result possible based on your unique treatment plan.

You wear each set of aligners for about one or two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Gradually, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position as prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Kasper about once a month to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

WHY INVISALIGN?

If straightening your teeth would benefit you but you are hesitant about getting braces, Invisalign might be ideal. Unlike traditional metal braces, the Invisalign aligner trays are removable, flexible, and comfortable.

When you have metal, ceramic, or porcelain braces you need to avoid certain hard, crunchy, and chewy foods. With Invisalign, you remove your aligners to eat so you can eat popcorn, corn on the cob, or any other foods that traditional braces wearers must avoid.

In addition, by being able to remove the trays, you can maintain your regular flossing and brushing habits. Best of all, your aligner trays are crystal clear and virtually invisible so you can smile proudly throughout your treatment.

DIGITAL 3D IMAGERY

There are no goop or messy molds to deal with. Thanks to the advanced computer technology of our iTero Element 3D Scanner, we will scan your teeth to create a digital 3D model. Then, using Invisalign’s digital Clin Check® software, you will be able to see an outcome simulation of what your final results should look like before you even begin treatment.
